Older craftsman-style houses fill in the tree-lined winding neighborhood streets of Mount Baker. Sitting just south of I-90 just next to Lake Washington, Seattle’s Mount Baker neighborhood’s namesake was bestowed on the area from it’s prime view of the actual mountain. This area was intentionally developed with green space in mind, preserving the diverse geographical terrain as it slopes down to the waterfront. Cozy cafes and pizzarias line various pockets of the neighborhood. In the summers, you can be a part of Bicycle Sundays as the community shuts down Lake Washington Blvd S. so that cyclists can zip through to Genesee Park without worrying about traffic. Seattle’s annual SeaFair celebration holds their water sports races along the neighborhood’s edge. If you love the mix of lake living and a close-knit community, Mount Baker is the neighborhood for you.
